When a young boy's mother is replaced by his father's girlfriend, he finds himself grappling with terrifying supernatural forces that seem to have taken residence in their family home. As he navigates this unsettling new reality, he questions whether these eerie occurrences have always been lurking in the shadows or if they've manifested with the arrival of the new resident.

Alderney, 1964. Agnes works alone as a switchboard operator in the telephone exchange. When she receives a strange call from Shirley, suffering from dementia and unable to clearly articulate what is happening around her, there's a blood curdling scream down the line, and the call cuts. Worried, Agnes sets about gleaning information from other callers in an attempt to piece together what's happened. Striving for the Present - Part A is an experimental film that combines a fictional character in a documentary setting.
