That Orchestra With the Broken Instruments

by adminpublished on October 19, 2025

A moving documentary film, told in three languages. From broken strings to fleeting harmony, an unlikely orchestra using unlikely instruments successfully defies the odds in Jerusalem, and proves – if only for a short moment – that there is a chance for a better future.

Broken and discarded musical instruments, dented brass, rusting valves.
One conductor, three composers, and a hundred musicians—young and old, professional and amateur, from different languages and worlds—gather in Jerusalem.

Four days of rehearsals, against every obstacle, to create a single, one-time concert.
In their music, fractured instruments and fractured lives find a fragile, fleeting harmony—a glimpse of hope.

The film is presented in its original Hebrew, Arabic and English language, with optional English language captions/subtitles.
